SYSTEMS ENGINEER (PROCESS)

 

Scope of Duties:

 

§          As a member of project team perform all assigned process control activities.

 

§          Develop Definition of Requirement (DOR) and Statement of Requirement (SOR) for major DCS modifications or process control projects.

 

§          Develop procedures for implementation of DCS system Hardware/Software release upgrades or any other system changes.

 

§          Perform modification to DCS database, Plant schematics, CL programs and logic as required.

 

§          Provide support and troubleshooting for any process control related operational problems and for other packages such as PHD, IMAC, Simulation, and Advanced Controls.

 

§          Carry out system software reviews, tests and validation in accordance with the plant operating procedures and plant instrumentation/control system data for both the DCS and advanced control packages.

 

§          Provide technical support to the Operations Division by producing DCS functional description guidelines for efficient and reliable plant operation and in accordance with safety standards at the design stage.

 

§          Act as a DCS system reference/information source to other Divisions and provide operations and plant maintenance divisions with the system technical support.

 

§          Provide liaison with contractors during project installation and commissioning.

 

§          Review and maintain up-to-date records, files and documentation utilizing commercial packages for information, data compilation and presentation.

 

§          Review and implement system modifications and changes initiated by himself, his supervisor, operations or maintenance divisions.

 

§          Carry out other related or similar duties as assigned such as assisting in training and development of System Engineers (Developees).

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

§          B. Sc. in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical/ Automation/ Instruments), preferably Chartered Status.

§          Minimum of 4 years works experience in Control projects. Knowledge of Honeywell TPS, PHD, and multi-variable control and Dynamic simulation packages would be advantageous.

§          Knowledge of Windows NT, networking environment and familiarity with commercial packages.

§          Good written and spoken English.

 

 

Remuneration Package:

 

§          Salary is negotiable, with comprehensive benefits package.

§          Work/Leave cycle: 38/25 (i.e. 38 days on Das Island followed by 25 days off).

§          Messing and accommodation are provided free of charge while on the Island.

§          Excellent sports/recreational club facilities on the Island.

 

Note:  1 US $ = 3.66 Dhs. approximately.
